Summertime in Avondale

Avondale

Home to the world-famous Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden, Avondale plays host to more than 1,000,000 visitors each year. Beautiful, wide, tree-lined streets and a variety of sturdy brick houses accent Avondale, which originated in the 1830’s. The neighborhood also has a collection of Gothic Tudor homes, some boasting original Rookwood Tile from the early 20th century. Avondale’s central location (minutes from downtown, Interstates 71 and 75, University of Cincinnati, and Xavier University) makes this an appealing community in which to live. Uptown’s most populated neighborhood, Avondale has a population of 16,192 people, many of which are families with children.
