One of Uptown Consortium, Inc.’s (UCI) goals is to bring consumers and local businesses together for the benefit and growth of the Uptown community. That’s why UCI frequently shines a spotlight and celebrates the unique, one-of-a-kind small businesses in Uptown to inspire people to support them throughout the year. This month, UCI is pleased to highlight Mt. Auburn’s Corban Early Learning Center, a place committed to honoring all voices, gifts, and strengths to create a safe and supportive community of young learners.
Corban Early Learning Center is a 5-star preschool and daycare (infant – pre-kindergarten) that incorporates a hands-on learning approach to encourage self-discovery for children. Owner Olivia Darks believes that children thrive through practicing physical activities, an introduction to healthy food and safe sleep habits. She explains her philosophy in this video here.
Corban Early Learning Center is one of the many examples of the unique and diverse Black-owned small businesses located in Uptown. “Many people drive by one of the most special places in Mt. Auburn and don’t even realize it. We are proud to know such an important Black-owned business, Corban Early Learning Center, is housed in our community providing an essential service: early childhood education,” said Rob Festenstein, President of Mount Auburn Chamber of Commerce.
