TriHealth recently opened its new Women’s Services OB-GYN Center at Good Samaritan Hospital in Uptown. In addition to providing comprehensive pregnancy and gynecological healthcare, the center works with community partners—including Queens Village, The Legal Aid Society (M-Help), Sweet Cheeks Diaper Bank and Cradle Cincinnati—to offer additional support and necessities to new mothers. The center’s team of healthcare workers, social workers and community partners allows it to be a “one-stop shop” for support services for expectant and new moms.

For more than a year, Uptown Consortium, Inc. (UCI) has been working with its planning and design firm, Sasaki, and its development partners to create plans for a large green space within the developments at Martin Luther King Drive and Reading Road. The multi-acre greenspace—called the Innovation Greenway—will offer new benefits and amenities to the surrounding community, building tenants, and anyone who lives in, works in, or visits Uptown.

Zoo Opens New Exhibit, Improves Sustainability Efforts
On August 18, the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden opened Roo Valley, an Australian-themed exhibit featuring kangaroos and little blue penguins, a ropes course, and a beer garden. The new habitat replaces Wildlife Canyon, which was an older facility that was difficult for visitors to access and navigate. It’s part of the Zoo’s More Home to Roam effort to expand and improve its animal habitats and conservation efforts.
New Developments Coming to Short Vine
Stakeholders and community partners—including the Short Vine Business Association, Corryville Community Council, City of Cincinnati, the University of Cincinnati, and Uptown Consortium, Inc.—have worked for years to redevelop the Short Vine Entertainment District. Now, the area is home to restaurants, bars, entertainment venues and other businesses and apartments.

Nonprofit Continues Leading Region’s COVID-19 Response
Greater Cincinnati is fortunate to have several large healthcare providers who work together to serve the community, especially over the past few months amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The Health Collaborative, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to improving healthcare and patient outcomes throughout the region, has led the region’s response to the pandemic by coordinating the collaboration between more than 270 healthcare systems, including Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, UC Health and TriHealth.
