Congratulations to Henry Brown, who was named a recipient of The Abercrumbie Group’s 2022 “Men of Honor” Award which pays tribute to local African American men who have succeeded against all odds to achieve incredible accomplishments and are catalysts for positive change in their community.
Brown, a partner at WEB Ventures, an economic inclusion management team, leads Uptown Consortium, Inc.’s (UCI) efforts to leverage the economic power of Uptown’s developments to create lasting opportunities for residents and minority-and women-owned businesses.
Brown’s hard work and service to the community was recognized at this year’s Men of Honor: A Salute to African American Men event.
Brown was honored on Saturday, November 19 at the Duke Energy Convention Center. He and the four other honorees received a $5,000 grant from the 7 Principles Foundation that will go to an organization of their choice that serves other African American males.
“Henry and his team at WEB work tirelessly to expand economic opportunities in all aspects of project and workforce development,” said Beth Robinson, President and CEO of UCI. “We’re thrilled that his work is being recognized for such a prestigious honor.”
William Witten and Howard Elliott, Henry’s partners at WEB Ventures, see him as a driving force in the community. “Howard and I, look at Henry as “The Point Guard,” that keeps “Two Power Forwards” doing the right things,” said Witten.
Brown has always been dedicated to his community. After a 30+ year career at Proctor & Gamble, he served as Project Manager and Technical Advisor to the National Underground Railroad Freedom Board of Directors. He also helped to design and construct a full-service Carl H. Lindner family branch of the YMCA in Cincinnati’s inner city. He served on the boards of the Greater Cincinnati YMCA, the YMCA of the USA and the Wesley Education Center. Currently, along with his work in WEB Ventures, Henry is a board member of the Avondale Development Corporation.
Congratulations again to Henry on his achievements.
